If you’ve been reading Fit As Fido, you already know the countless health benefits from being socially connected with others and chatting with folks you meet out on your dog walks. A recent report from the Department of Sociology at Cornell University in the Journal of Aging and Health highlighted the importance of establishing “bridges” to help seniors get reconnected with others. I’ll be writing a letter to the journal editor since, among their bridges, they neglected to consider the family dog! What better way to get introduced to others!
