Iams Home 4 the Holidays Update
2009 December 17

The Iams Home 4 the Holidays program is nearing their goal of placing 1.5 MILLION orphaned pets into forever homes by January 4th — so far 808,147 pets have now been adopted since October 1st! Will keep you posted over the remaining 17 days to see when they reach their goal!
And there’s still time to help pets in need this holiday season:
- Remember to consider checking out pets at your local shelter or breed rescue organization if you’re looking for a family pet or companion dog.
- Call your local shelter to see how you can help out during the holidays. While regular volunteers may be traveling or busy with family commitments, shelter dogs still need to be fed, walked, and loved. If you have time over the holidays, share yourself with these pets in need. You’ll feel great and it’ll be healthier for you than spending time on the sofa eating too many Christmas cookies!
- Make a donation to your shelter — shelters often collect pet toys, blankets, and food to give to people adopting dogs, families in need who already have pets, and the shelter pets.
- Offer to walk your neighbor’s dog if they have problems getting out in cold weather. You’ll make two friends for life — the neighbor AND Fido!
So spread the cheer this holiday season to human and canines alike!

Hello Dr. Marcus and thank you so much for your support!
I work at Iams and this event means a great deal to us. Your readers might also want to cast their votes to FEED PETS IN NEED. Each month, the Iams Home 4 the Holidays shelter with the most votes wins a month’s worth of pet food. Details here: http://www.iams.com/iams/feed-pets.jsp
Peace on Earth, Good Homes for Pets!
Thanks for the information and good luck with the work you do!
