Ricochet’s Healing Touch Works Magic

Tireless charity worker and surfing buddy Ricochet was recently recognized by the American Kennel Club who bestowed the Humane Fund Award for Canine Excellence on this incredible healing dog. You’ve read about Ricochet’s amazing work helping people with brain and spinal injuries through their rehab by surfing with them. You’ll read more about Ricochet’s work in my new book on the healing power of therapy dogs.

Today, you can watch this incredible video showing a very different Ian from the one we saw in the last video of Ian and Ricochet, where a timid Ian leaned on Ricochet for both physical and emotional support. My favorite part of the video is where Ian looks at Ricochet and announces, “We’re gonna go surfing Ricochet!” Ian’s told that Ricochet looks excited to go surfing and Ian agrees, “I think she IS excited!” What you really notice though is the joy, excitement, and curiosity in this little boy’s face, eager to conquer the day! When you watch this clip, you’d never guess where their journey began together as Ian now seems like any other little boy, about to have a fun day at the beach. Ian has followed Ricochet so far and it’s a joy to see Ricochet leading Ian to a happy, healthy life!
