Letters From Angel Book Review and Giveaway

Have you ever wondered what your dog might say to you if it could speak? How would your dog remember its life? What would seem so important and what would seem insignificant to your dog? And in your dog’s final days, would there be a sense of completion and contentment that we hope carries our beloved pup across the Rainbow Bridge?

Letters from Angel is a dog owner’s effort to come to grips with his own grief as his dog’s passing by putting “her words” on to paper to help remember and celebrate a life well spent. Not really a series of letters, this series of “doggy thoughts” and reminiscences is conveyed in very simple language that we might imagine our dog might use.

For those of you not familiar with attorney and publishing expert Martin Levin, you will need a bit of an introduction to the humans in this book before getting started. In an earlier book, All I Know About Management I Learned From My Dog, Levin introduces us to his life with a rescued Golden Retriever-Chow mix named Angel. Before starting Letters From Angel, you will need to know that Angel joined the household of widowed 92-year-old Martin Levin and his caretaker Paula Drost.

Letters From Angel is a book of healing and hope that will warm the heart of dog owners who have lost a canine best friend or know they will one day lose their beloved pup.

I have a single copy of Letters From Angel to give away to a lucky Fit As Fido fan. To be eligible, please leave a comment after this post from today until the end of day Friday. One winner will be randomly selected from those leaving a comment.

OMG! this would be one of those books you just HAVE to read and then have a headache from crying. Just like “Marley & Me” or “Rescuing Sprite”, you know the ending (hate the ending) but just have to go on. We all know the heartbreak of losing a beloved furry friend all too well. Just being able to share the experience thru a book is comforting.

Thanks so much for letting us know about this book. I would love to get this copy but I am glad that you let us know about it because if I don’t win this copy I will look for it in the book store. It sounds like a wonderful book! As Donna said we have all been through the loss of a beloved pet and it hurts so much. I think you always have a hole left in your heart when you loose a loved pet. Thanks again and have a great day!
