Eiffel Goes to Westminster

Here at Fit As Fido, we’ve been fans of champion Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Eiffel since we first saw him stealing the show at a photo shoot for GQ magazine. Eiffel is now off to the pinnacle of dog events — Westminster.

Proud owner Michele shares Eiffel’s story:

Eiffel’s registered name is GCH Bryr Rose Symbol of Paris. I met his breeder, Jeanne Ferris, at a dog show in Hartford, CT in 2008. We became good friends and when she did a breeding that resulted in five girls and one boy, I wanted a show dog. She told me that the chances of the single boy being a show potential was not great. I met him when he was four days old and instantly fell in love. Luckily for me, he did turn out to be a show potential and I took him home at eight weeks of age.

Eiffel lives with his mom Michele, dad Scott and wheaten sister Jessie who puts him in his place whenever his show career goes to his head.

When Eiffel was six months old, I showed him at his first show and he won his first point. He and I won both his Majors and a Group 4 when he was eight months old. He was Reserve Winner’s Dog at Montgomery 2010 and finished his Championship at just over a year old. From there, he received an AOM at the specialties at Montgomery 2011 and also at Bucks 2012. He became a Grand Champion early in 2012.
Now, we are headed to Westminster. Jeanne Ferris, Eiffel’s breeder, will be showing Eiffel on Tuesday, Feb. 12th at 10:45 a.m. Wish us luck!!
